MULDER'S TOTALLY BOGUS (RABBIT) JOURNEY
A DIGITAL SHRINE FOR MY DEAD RABBIT

NOW WE'RE TALKIN. Mulder's Totally Bogus (Rabbit) Journey was made for the TIGSOURCE "assembly" competition, where first people made a bunch of assets and then everyone made games with the assets. It is a game about being a dead bunny, and finding and rescuing other dead bunnies who are trapped throughout rabbit limbo. There are also some mysterious machines and shadow beasts walking around, and some light interdimensional travel.

I had a lot of fun making this game, except that I was also very sad while I made it, because my beautiful rabbit Mulder had just died. So of course I built him a little Zelda fantasy land to run around in. The game is not bad, I think. It has only a few bad decisions but they are all enthusiastically executed:

1. You have to keep eating timothy hay pellets all the time or you become very slow.
2. The rabbit dialogue is all chirpy lowercase lolcats.
3. Everything kills you in one hit so it is so hard.
4. All the boss battles (yes, there are boss battles) are environmental switch puzzles like at the end of Quake episode 1.

What I am still very happy about is there are so many fun secret doors and staircases to find, and I had learned how to save data to an .ini file, so once you open a shortcut, it stays open! Neat! I also really like the music I composed for the second half of the game (which I completed after the competition had ended). ALAS, this game is woefully broken and impossible to finish. Goodbye, Mulder, I love you!
